Richard A. Picerno, MDBoard Certified & Fellowship Trained Orthopedic Surgeon

Dr. Picerno is a board certified orthopedic surgeon and fellow of the AAOS with over two decades of experience in innovative orthopedic care. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Tennessee and completed his Orthopedic residency at the University of Florida Health Science Center in Jacksonville where he served as chief resident, and was the recipient of the Luis S. Russo award for professionalism in Medicine. He has extensive experience in total joints and arthroscopic procedures, with a focus on shoulders, knees and hips. His goal is to provide a patient-centered, caring, compassionate and conservative approach to returning patients of all ages to the joy of the active life they desire. He holds many positions of leadership in Baptist Health System, at Baptist Medical Center South, and in his orthopedic practice, including Chair of the Baptist South Hospital Board, Chief of Orthopedics and Chief quality Physician. Dr. Picerno also serves as an adjunct professor at LECOM medical school, and is actively involved in leadership in the community and his church.
