Dr. Wilke graduated with honors from the University of Iowa (Iowa City, IA) with a Bachelor of Science in Integrative Physiology. He attended Saint Louis University School of Medicine (St. Louis, MO), where he graduated with a Doctor of Medicine. Dr. Wilke was distinguished with multiple academic awards and inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society.

Dr. Wilke completed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Mayo Clinic in Rochester (Rochester, MN). He then completed a fellowship in Musculoskeletal Oncology at the University of Florida (Gainesville, FL). Then he went on to mentor residents and fellows at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville (Jacksonville, FL), advancing to Associate Professor. Additionally, Dr. Wilke helped launch the outpatient total joint program and developed an osseointegration practice for amputees.

Dr. Wilke is an active Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He has authored over 80 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters and has presented at numerous national and international meetings.
