After reaching a point where I couldn’t walk due to severe knee pain, Dr. Bell came highly recommended to me by a friend. He replaced my knee and 6 days after the surgery I was walking without any devices. I’m now on week 6 and walking at least a mile a day without pain or a trace of a limp. Dr. Bell and all of the hospital staff took great care of me! Hopefully my other knee will stay healthy but if I need another total knee replacement, I wouldn’t trust anyone other than Dr. Bell!

Dr Bell was amazing. In the past 8 years, I have had both hips and one knee replaced by Doctors in Jacksonville and NC. Dr Bell replaced my left knee with NO pain afterwards. Never touched the ones he prescribed. Wish I had the experience before. I whole heartedly recommend Dr. Bell. His skills are simply amazing

He helped me avoid surgery as long as I could by giving me cortisone injections in my knees. X-rays showed total loss of cartilage in one knee and almost all in the other knee. He explained my options and left it totally up to me when to have surgery. I finally had full replacement in one knee 8 months ago and it was as if I got my life back because I am not in constant pain anymore. He made sure I understood the importance of physical therapy and continued to check on my progress.

I will eventually need my other knee replaced and will absolutely choose Dr Bell as the surgeon. My physical therapist said she saw a difference in my healing from patients that had used other surgeons.

I had total replacement done on both knees approximately 3 months apart. I could not be happier with the results. I had virtually no pain after both procedures. I walked out of the hospital, with a walker the same day as the procedure. I switched to a cane after one day and was basically able to carefully walk without a cane within a few days. My therapies went great and I was dismissed from both prior to the scheduled completion. My range of motion and strength are now better than they have been in 30 years. I was 72 at the time of both surgeries. I am still without pain one year later and I move better than ever.
I give the credit to Dr Bell. Not only is he caring, responsive and professional, but he is also an absolute joy to work with. Everything has gone as he predicted and we were able to work around the difficulties associated with the COVID pandemic. I have and will continue to recommend Dr Bell to anyone who asks me. He has been a pleasure to work with during the prepping, actual surgery, the post op and rehabilitation as well as my one year follow up.
I would also like to say that appointments were on time and supported by a professional staff. I would also like to thank his assistant Catherine for all of her great support. She does an excellent job. Baptist South hospital was also excellent and I wouldn’t hesitate to use their services again in the future.

I did a lot of research on my quest for an orthopedic surgeon. I’m so glad I was able to find Dr. Bell. In my opinion, he’s great. He listened to my concerns about knee replacement surgery, went over the procedure, what to expect following surgery, recovery time and having physical therapy. Dr. Bell recently replaced my left knee. Throughout the process Dr. Bell was professional, extremely knowledgeable, genuinely concerned about any issues, and very easy to visit with. I have so much respect and confidence in Dr. Bell that I am following up on some old orthopedic issues that I have neglected for several years. His entire staff was outstanding. Catherine, Dr. Bell's medical assistant, has also earned my respect and utmost appreciation for everything she does.
