I went to Jacksonville orthopedic institute to have my knee replacement. I had my right knee done and still have to get my left one done. I will start with my experience with the staff. It was an excellent experience they are fast getting you back when you go for appointments they're eager to get up and assist when they see someone that needs it they're always pleasant and do their job very well. The doctor that did my surgery was Dr Philip Bell and I don't think there is a word out there to describe him so I will use the only ones I can to relate to him. He is an amazing doctor he has a great bedside manner and from the moment you meet with him you know you're in good hands. Dr Bell is very thorough with the expectations of your surgery you know from the beginning that his knowledge supersedes most others. He gives you the confidence and reassurance that gives you peace of mind about your surgery. He is meticulous when he does your surgery many people say that my scar looks amazing and they've never seen a scar look so good after a knee replacement. He did an amazing job and his team worked amazing alongside of him. I was in the hospital for one day and I went home knowing I would be in good hands the whole way down this road of recovery. It hurt like nothing I could imagine knee replacement surgery is absolutely no joke. I'm 8 weeks out and I still have some pain but can already notice the wonderful difference it has made. His assistant Catherine is always there to answer any questions you may have and do everything she can do to help to me all the people at JOI made this a great experience. I was so scared before the surgery the fear of the unknown as well as knowing it was going to be a lot of work and a lot of pain but I assure you that Dr Bell and his staff will get you through it beautifully I highly recommend him if you are thinking of having a knee replacement. Feel free to leave a question or a comment for me if you have any questions as I know how scary a knee replacement could be I will be glad to answer any but his team will cover everything you need to know. You will be in great hands from start to finish.

I am so grateful to Dr Bell and his personnel for taking care of my ankle fractures. Today was my last visit after three months of using cast and boots, I graduated! Thank you Dr Bell for being so kind to me.

Dr. Bell was excellent! Very professional yet personable. He performed my hip replacement surgery and my brother's surgery. Both surgeries were a success and we both recovered with no complications.

I am 78 years old and had a painful hip that I couldn't walk on. Bone on bone with limited mobility. After conservative treatments failed, Dr Bell explained in detail every option I had. His professional caring manner convinced me to have my hip replaced. And WOW, what a difference. Within hours after my surgery I could walk pain free. It has been nearly 3 weeks now and still pain free. I am getting more active and loving life.

Dr. Bell authorized injections into my left hip about every six months to greatly relieve severe pain caused by osteoarthritis. After two years, this conservative therapy no longer was effective. We agreed that it was time for hip replacement surgery, which was successful in relieving excruciating “bone-on-bone” pain. Now, after physical therapy, I have been able to resume normal activities.

I came to Dr. Bell with hip and leg pain, after reviewing my x ray, he indicated best course would be for hip replacement. Dr. Bell and his staff performed this surgery and now I am pain free and doing well just after 6 weeks. He gave me the needed care and answered all my questions before and after surgery. What a wonderful Orthopedic Surgeon. I am in my sixth week after a full knee replacement. The pain is already much less than I had before surgery. I can now walk correctly without any assistance and can walk for long distances. A complete success. His staff is also very good and helpful. Can't go wrong using him.
